ABOUT JOHN GALIANOS
JOHN GALIANOS
Mr Galianos began his service with the Sûreté du Québec in 1968. He spent the largest part of his career at the Montréal Headquarters as Detective Supervisor of the Crimes Against Persons Unit (Homicide Division) and as Assistant Commander of the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit.
In 1976, Mr Galianos was selected by a special committee of the Sûreté du Québec to receive training as a polygraph examiner at the Keeler Polygraph Institute, in Chicago, Illinois. Mr Galianos graduated from the school, thus creating a page in the history of the Sûreté du Québec by becoming its first polygraph examiner and pioneering the Polygraph Division as it exists today.

In 1990, John Galianos founded the firm GALIANOS POLYGRAPHE EXPERT, INC., a company which offers computerized polygraph services to government organizations, law enforcement agencies, private security companies, the legal community, the corporate sector, and private citizens.
Since becoming a polygraph examiner for the Sûreté du Québec in 1976, and up to present day in the private sector, Mr Galianos has administered more than 6,000 polygraph examinations in Canada, the United States, and Europe.

COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION AND TRAINING
In 2008, Mr Galianos was appointed Chairman of the Committee on Education and Training for the Canadian Association of Police Polygraphists, a position which he holds to this day.
POLYGRAPH SCHOOL INSPECTOR
In 2001, Mr Galianos was appointed Polygraph School Inspector by the American Polygraph Association, Educational Accreditation Committee, a position which he still holds. Over the years, he has conducted polygraph school inspections in Canada, the United States, London, England, Seoul, South Korea, and Tel Aviv, Israel.

Mr Galianos has authored several articles on Polygraphy and Interviewing and Interrogation. Over the years, his works have been published in journals and magazines devoted to security and law enforcement.
He is also an Associate Editor of POLYGRAPH, a magazine published by the American Polygraph Association, a position he holds since 2008.

HONOURARY MEMBER
In recognition of his work and dedication to the advancement of the field of Polygraphy, Mr Galianos was awarded an Honourary Membership at the Canadian Association of Police Polygraphists 2015 Annual Meeting. On this occasion, members were able to show their gratitude to Mr Galianos for graciously taking charge of organizing CAPP’s annual seminars over the years, for volunteering his services in the training of regional members in the past, for continuing to be a valuable resource to members seeking advice regarding court testimony, and for everything he does to support the field of Polygraphy.
